Q: Which options to build with?

Postby drdr18 » Wed Mar 22, 2017 2:56 am

I have an ancient version of ffmpeg on my Raspi.

I want to build a new version, with the same features / codecs etc enabled, as the old one. How do I figure out what I need to include?

Doing an ffmpeg -version, I can see which libraries were included. Great. I'll include those...
When look at the -codecs and the like, there are so many of them, I have no idea which ones are built-in versus needing some flag set or something...

Thanks!

Just copy each instance of --enable-* from the configure line as shown in the version output.
Get an answer more quickly by providing your actual ffmpeg command and the complete console output. Use the code button to format your command and output or your question will be ignored.
