How to speed up / slow down a video

Postby burek » Mon Apr 16, 2012 5:13 pm

You can change the speed of your video using setpts video filter.

To speed up your video, you can type:
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i input.avi -vf "setpts=0.5*PTS" output.avi

To slow down your video, you can type:
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i input.avi -vf "setpts=2.0*PTS" output.avi

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i E:\fraps\Movies\Linjeduell.mkv -vf "setpts=0.5*PTS" Linjeduell2.mkv

Did not work for me.

Both the input (Linjeduell.mkv) and the output (Linjeduell2.mkv) are 00:04:01 long.

Any idea what could be wrong?

I would love to post the command line output, but i keep getting "Newly registered users do not have permission to post links.

[EDIT:] pastebin: mmLEFgGe

[EDIT2:] solved!

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -filter_complex "[0:v]setpts=0.5*PTS[v];[0:a]atempo=2[a]" -map "[v]" -map "[a]" -c:v libx264 -c:a aac output.mp4
