stream video to smartphone

Postby neuronetv » Mon May 01, 2017 7:37 am

I'm running centos 6 server with ffmpeg-git-20170417-64bit-static and I'm trying to stream video so it can be viewed on a mobile phone This is the ffmpeg command:
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -codec:v libx264 -preset slow -s 320x240 -b:v 500k -maxrate 500k -bufsize 1000k -vf scale=-1:240 -threads 0 -codec:a libmp3lame -b:a 128k http://localhost:8090/feed1.ffm
I've omitted full console output because it's not needed, this command runs fine and I also have ffserver running on the same machine and from another pc on the lan I can view video.mp4 streaming at
http://<ip-address>:8090/test.webm
but It won't play on a smartphone however. This is possibly because the parameters in the ffmpeg command are wrong but I don't know what they should be. I've tried many variations on the above command without success. It could be my crappy little samsung galaxy ace phone will never play streaming video but I'd like to make sure of that before I give up and buy a better phone. Thanks for any advice.
