Can ffmpeg/ffserver stream multichannel audio from soundcard

Postby n3mmr » Mon May 23, 2016 7:19 pm

I wonder if ffmpeg/ffserver can do the following:
I have a six-channel soundcard connected over USB to a computer running w10 or Linux or freebsd or whatever.

I have analog audio from a multitrack analog audio tape machine connected to the six sound card inputs

I want to stream this as multichannel lpcm over HTTP to a media player that is known to be able to passthru multichannel audio from multichannel wav files as multichannel lpcm over HDMI.

Is there any way to set up ffmpeg and ffserver to do this?
