FFmpeg eror: Invalid data found when processing input

Postby Don » Tue Aug 29, 2017 10:24 pm

Hello,

I am trying to resize a video if it is larger than a certain size. In the process of doing that, I get the error below.

Here is the command:

Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i ../images/blog-images/7aq10Y74ZTvideodaysd95013.mp4 -vf scale=500:-2 -c:v libx264 -c:a aac -y ../images/blog-images/7aq10Y74ZTvideodaysd95013.mp4

Here is the output:

Your input and output filenames are the same, you can't do that as FFmpeg does not do in-place editing. Your source file has been overwritten. Specify a separate output file.

I thought that was the issue and used a different output name and it worked. Thank you for confirming that! :)
